Privacy policy
What Daily Home collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Effective date: 30 August 2026
Last updated: 23 September 2026
Who we are
Daily Home ("the app") is operated by Rostyslav Horbachenko, a registered sole trader (Einzelunternehmer) in Austria, Samhaberplatz 3, 1140 Vienna, Austria ("we", "us").
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Questions about this policy or your data: support@dailyhome.app
What the app is
Daily Home helps you keep track of two things: a short checklist of items to verify before leaving home (sockets, stove, light, windows, keys, door), and a list of recurring household upkeep tasks with reminders.
It is a personal note-keeping tool. It does not connect to, monitor, or control anything in your home. It has no access to smart-home devices, sensors, or cameras.
What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to function. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no tracking pixel, and no third-party marketing tool in the app.
Account information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store:
- Your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we receive Apple's private relay address instead of your real one, and that is all we ever see.
- A user identifier from the provider, used to recognise you on your next sign-in.
We never receive or store your Google or Apple password. Authentication happens entirely with those providers.
Settings
- Time zone, as a region identifier such as
Europe/Vienna. Used solely to send the daily reminder at 09:00 in your local time. This is not precise location data — it identifies a time zone, not a place. - Whether notifications are enabled.
- Whether you have dismissed the one-time swipe tutorial. Stored on the server so the tutorial does not reappear when you sign in on a second device.
Your content
- Checklist items: the name and icon of each tile, whether it is currently checked, and when it was last checked.
- Care items: the name and icon of each task, its repeat interval, and when you last marked it done.
This is the substance of what the app stores about you, and it is deliberately minimal: a handful of short text labels and timestamps.
Device token
If you enable notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification service device token so our server can send you the daily reminder. It is deleted when you sign out or turn notifications off.
What we do not collect
- No precise or approximate location
- No contacts, photos, calendars, or health data
- No payment information. Daily Home is free, and when it was a paid app the purchase was made from Apple rather than from us. Either way Apple handles any payment and we never receive your card details, billing address, or any part of the transaction beyond aggregate sales reports that do not identify individual buyers. Should we add paid features later, this stays true: Apple would remain the seller.
- No usage analytics, crash analytics, or behavioural profiling
- No advertising identifiers, and we do not serve ads
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Data | GDPR basis |
|---|---|---|
| Give you an account and sync across your devices | Email, provider identifier | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Store and display your checklist and care items | Your content | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Send the daily reminder you asked for | Time zone, device token, care item due dates | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — withdrawable at any time |
| Keep the service secure and working | Server logs | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Notifications
If you turn notifications on, our server checks once an hour whether it is 09:00 in your time zone and whether you have at least one overdue task. If both are true, it sends one notification summarising the count. We never send a separate notification per task.
If nothing is overdue, no notification is sent.
You can turn notifications off at any time in Menu → Manage account → Notifications, or in iOS Settings. Turning them off in the app deletes your device token.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of processors. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
| Processor | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and authentication — all account data and content | European Union (eu-west-1, Ireland) |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; delivery of push notifications via APNs | Per Apple's terms |
| Google Sign-In, if you choose it | Per Google's terms |
Your account data and content are stored in the European Union. Push notification delivery necessarily involves Apple's infrastructure, and Google Sign-In involves Google's, each governed by their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
When you delete your account, we delete all of it. Deletion is immediate and complete: your profile, every checklist item, every care item, your categories, and your device tokens are removed by database-level cascade. Nothing is retained in a "soft deleted" state, and there is no way for us to recover it afterwards.
Delete your account in the app: Menu → Manage account → Delete account.
Backups, where they exist, are retained by our hosting provider on their own rolling schedule and expire automatically.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct it if it is wrong
- Delete it — available directly in the app, no request needed
- Export it in a portable format
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent for notifications at any time
- Complain to your national data protection authority
To exercise any right that isn't already a button in the app, email support@dailyhome.app. We will respond within one month.
If you are in Austria, the supervisory authority is the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian Data Protection Authority), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna — dsb.gv.at.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Database access is restricted by row-level security policies, meaning each account can only ever read or write its own rows — enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
